Lunar Digest: New Moon In Capricorn

new moon in capricorn

Working with my menstrual cycle, the Wheel of the Year, and the lunar cycle have served me so well over the last 7-8 eight years. The Moon in particular supports me throughout the month in re-committing to my intentions, taking inspired action and shedding whatever doesn't support the woman I am becoming. I do my own Full and New Moon rituals, and lead The Sisterhood Of The Moon New Moon Circles online in groups and have helped numerous women to maximise their manifestation potential by allowing 'Lady Luna' to inspire their day-to-day lives. The Lunar Digest is a bi-monthly blog post sharing the main themes of the upcoming lunation, my own take on what The Moon has in store, a practice to engage with, an affirmation for The Moon, and a journaling prompt. I hope you enjoy!

The New Moon in Capricorn - 11/1/2024

Main themes:

  • Energetic shifts and upgrades

  • Powerful realisations and 'downloads'

  • Poignant reflections on the last lunar cycle and last 12-months of lunar cycles

  • 'It packs a punch' kind of energy

My take:

Every New Moon is an opportunity for us to reconnect with our visions and intentions for the coming month... But the first one of a New Year packs an extra-special punch, even when it isn't the final New Moon before Pluto moves into Aquarius for the first time since the 1700's (which, this time, it is!)

With this added Pluto-shifting element, we have all of our deepest-and-darkest, innermost thoughts and feelings brought to the surface. We can choose whether we want to share them, shed them, or shine a light on the magic they can bring: it's a time to bring our secrets out into the open and let the chips fall where they were always intended to be.

If you have been keeping your witchy-woo vibes hidden in the closet, but feel invited to share them around this Moon, go for it... If you have a personal story that you've been too shy to tell, which you think might help someone else in some way, now is the time. If you've been turning a blind eye to some sort of injustice or betrayal, this New Moon in Capricorn is holding space for you to stand up for what is right now.

It's a time for deep healing, intense inner-child work, and radical self-love. On the other side of it is an empowerment which will carry you throughout 2024 and beyond, making waves as you go.

Affirmation:

"I am ready. Yes I am."

Journaling prompt:

When you say, "I am ready!" what fears are rearing their head? Why do you need to affirm, "Yes I am!" right afterwards? What are you apprehensive about discovering, acknowledging, or taking responsibility for? Why are you anxious about this? What do you stand to gain from feeling the fear and doing it anyway? And, how will you start?

Practice:

Share what comes up in your journaling with someone else. Choose how you do this, and be mindful to choose safe spaces to share (so, perhaps not on a public social media channel, or with your judgemental boss...) and remember, you don't need to share with someone who will be affected by your revelations, in fact, sometimes, it is better if you are sharing with a semi-stranger (my free facebook group The Soul-Led Sisterhood Experience: Lifestyle Upgrades for Fierce Females is actually a great place to find a buddy!) Tell them what you are thinking, feeling and fearing. And tell them what you intend. If it feels good to arrange a check-in with them at a later date, after you've implemented some of what you committed to for a little extra accountability, then do.

Personally, I'm really excited for this New Moon, and I've already been feeling energetic shifts (specifically in terms of shedding some soul-limiting beliefs and making self-worth realisations) taking place over the last couple of days. Remember, the energy of the New Moon is around for a few days before and after, and even if you are reading this way in retrospect, trust that it has come to you at the right time and it means something.

Otherwise, Happy New Moon, woman!

With grace and grit,

Gabriella
