Lunar Digest: Super New Moon in Pisces

super new moon in pisces

Working with my menstrual cycle, the Wheel of the Year, and the lunar cycle have served me so well over the last 7-8 eight years. The Moon in particular supports me throughout the month in re-committing to my intentions, taking inspired action and shedding whatever doesn't support the woman I am becoming. I do my own Full and New Moon rituals, and lead The Sisterhood Of The Moon New Moon Circles online in groups and have helped numerous women to maximise their manifestation potential by allowing 'Lady Luna' to inspire their day-to-day lives. The Lunar Digest is a bi-monthly blog post sharing the main themes of the upcoming lunation, my own take on what The Moon has in store, a practice to engage with, an affirmation for The Moon, and a journaling prompt. I hope you enjoy!

The Super New Moon in Pisces - 10/3/2024

Main themes:

  • A break in the chaos

  • Ethereal intuition

  • Dreaminess

  • Super-charged inspiration

My take:

The moons at the front end of 2024 are a lot. Really, they are... If you've been feeling a sense of intensity since the year began, you're not on your own, and just looking through the last few Lunar Digests, you should see where some of that chaotic energy has come from. And from the next Full Moon, it starts again...

But this Super New Moon in Pisces is a break in that chaos. It provides us with some much-needed respite from the quick-pace which we've all felt shoe-horned into over the last couple of months. Not only is Pisces known as one of the gentler, more soft and dreamy water signs, but this New Moon is also right near to Neptune, which is the planet of the poetic, peace and presence.

So in this ethereal energy, we might find ourselves floating around, feeling a little out-of-body, but with a sense of deep inner knowing bubbling beneath the surface all the while. This is a time to invest in our intuition with time (perhaps journal or speak-out-loud your soul's whispers until clarity appears), energy (definitely sit and meditate, go for some reiki, or gaze into natural bodies of water) and even money (pay for a women's circle, an intuition-activating course or something similar).

If you've been struggling to find a creative solution to a problem, or have been feeling stuck in the mind and the body and need to drop into the heart and soul, now is the time to work on that. Allow yourself to pause, and pursue presence. The answers will soon appear.

Affirmation:

"I am hitting the pause button, while I pursue only presence and peace."

Journaling prompt:

How have the last couple of months panned out for you? Have you been pursuing the intentions you'd set out at the beginning of the year? Where have you allowed life to get in the way? How might pausing, being present and embodying peace help you to move forward this month?

Practice:

A New Moon in a water sign, especially as the spring is almost upon us, is a brilliant opportunity to spend some time near to a natural body of water. Meditating with water can help us to quickly bring clarity to the chaos, so set aside some time this week to go and find a spot in the outdoors, close to a lake, stream, pond, sea, or waterfall. If you can find none of these, even a puddle, or a glass of water will do. When you arrive, get comfortable, put some gentle music on if you like, and simply gaze upon the water. Set the intention to find peace and presence in whichever area of your life you need it the most... Sit in this way for at least five minutes, and allow whatever comes up to simply be. Let images form in the mind's eye, allow tears to fall, connect the senses to your natural surroundings. Only when you feel deeply relaxed, complete the practice. Feel free to fill a little vial or bottle with the water you gazed upon (collecting it safely, of course) to put on your altar if you have one. I've been desperate for a pause recently to be honest... I've been facing one challenge after another, and whenever I feel like sinking into a defeatist attitude, something wonderful will happen suddenly to swoop me back to a good level. And I'm so grateful for those upswings, I really am, but it is very disorientating to be on this rollercoaster constantly.

That said, I am in life for the long-haul, and the contrast is what we need to remind ourselves regularly of how fortunate we are, the shadows we need to work on, the places to invest our time and energy. I'm committed. It's just tiring too, so I've been allowing myself to double-down on early nights, soft-edge digital detoxes, and choosing my battles. This aligns in a way with this New Moon, so I'm going to be investing more into my meditation practice over the next few days especially.

I can feel a new idea beginning to form in my gut, so my practice will pave the way for that to manifest to fruition.

With grace and grit,

Gabriella
